Silly Tips
* If you're wearing make-up as part of your costume over do it so the camera can catch it.
* Play some music. Loosen up with a dance party.
* Don't be shy. You're there because you want to be.
* If you find yourself stage struck sing your fave song in your head.
* Be confident in your picture taking. You probably won't realise at the time but the pictures you're taking are awesome!
* It's digital. Snap away!
* Experiment: Stand on something and look down on your subject.
* Don't just focus on their face. Look for details. Feet. Jewellery.
* When all else fails, jump! Jumping pictures are always cool.
* Feeling tense? Laugh. Fake laughing makes you really laugh and when you laugh you're gorgeous.
* If you're going to make sound effects ie. pretending to shoot a lazer gun or pretending to be a lion. Commit. Make the sounds and make them loud.
* The camera catches how beautiful you are but if you're carrying tension it catches that too. Don't clench your jaw or square your shoulders. Shake it out.
* When you're the photographer don't be scared to get in close to your subject. Get in their face.

Official date!
Silly Girls EXTRAVAGANZA!
Voting ends this Friday for the official theme of our photo shoots. The official photo shoots will take place on the weekend of July 10th. We decided to go with a weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) because we know everyone has obligations that can't just be abandoned. We'd like for your pictures to be added to the new Official Silly Girls United group on facebook - there wasn't a way for you to upload your pictures into albums on the other page so I created this one. You have to "like" it so I can add you as admin and therefore upload your images into albums.
We want to keep uploads organised. I'll explain how we'll do that closer to the time (it'll be easy).
Because the Official shoot date is a few weeks away we want to give you the chance to do a warm up shoot on the weekend of July 4th! Lots of us will be travelling and spending that weekend with family, which is perrrrfect! If you do choose to warm-up don't tell us the theme you're doing. I want to guess it when I see the pictures ;)

Silly Girls UNITE!
We created a new Silly Girls Photography group on Facebook. The other one was a bit like a garden that needed serious weeding and well, I'm not really that good at gardening...
To get the ball rolling we're planning on doing a Silly Girls United photo shoot. Date and theme will be announced later and all groups of Silly Girls will have their photo shoot on the same day and we'll all post the outcome on the Silly Girls Photography page. It doesn't matter if all you have is a little point and shoot camera, be confident. Confidence is key. It doesn't matter if you don't have some super complicated editing software, the intergalactic net is on your side! (free editing awesomeness here) I can extinguish any other excuses you have too. Try me. What this comes down to is if you want to do it or not. If you're confident enough. If it's a hard choice for you to make, trust me, you'll benefit the most. And PS. It's FUN!
Everyone we take pictures of will say something wacky like, "I have a big bum", "I'm not thin enough", "I have a pimple" but you don't see that when you look at the pictures. You're not alone in your insecurities and we're not the only ones who think you're beautiful. Let us show you!
For now we're looking to see who will step up to the plate (is that a baseball reference?) and take on the challenge of being a Silly Girl and spread the word of what we stand for! What do we stand for, you ask!? Take a look at our little mission statement on the sidebar there ---->
It's a fact that once you take part in one of these photo shoots you will become more confident, you'll make new friends, you'll discover something new about yourself. You'll love it! All of that is scientifically proven by the science of Awesome!
Basically it's time to start showing everyone those poses you've been doing in the mirror for the last 20-odd years.
